John started his ministry with these words and Jesus started his ministry with these words.
“And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2 KJV
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 KJV
God has compassion towards sinners. People in this world are doing various things to sin against the god.
A drunkard he thinks that there is no sin in him. World is angry with him because he is wasting his money. World has left him saying we can’t do anything with him. But god has a compassion and mercy and grace towards him. God is showing great mercy towards him. Jesus says – I have come to save the sinners and to show them how much I love them. I am giving my blood to save you.
Now you might say what shall I do now to whom shall I repent. Well repent to Jesus. He is our mediator. You should have deep conviction of sin. If you have deep conviction of sin and if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and shed his blood, God will no more remember your sins. He will cleanse them as white as snow. If you accept Jesus as your savior and if you repent for your sins and follow his commandments then today is the day.
Now to those of you who already repented, dont you have the thirst to save the world. Is this not our responsibility to save the world. God wants to send the rivers of living water from you to others.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38 KJV
Rom8:1 says we should not walk in flesh but we should walk in spirit. Don’t think in flesh. If we think in flesh we will hate sinners but if we think in spirit we will love uttermost sinners. Walking in spirit means leading our life in spirit through the guidance of the spirit of the lord.
The birth of Jesus tells us two important things that Jesus was Saviour and King.
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Jesus whom God sent into this world was truly a Son of God, Son of Man, Son of a King.
Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
In Bible its written Jesus is the son of David and the son of Abraham. Jesus is the son of Abraham and he is a Saviour for us. God choose Abraham and called him and told him that he will make his seed as the sand of the sea. And he will bless all nations through him. Jesus is also called son of David and he is King of Kings.
First lets see the Saviour in Jesus
If Jesus had to be born into this world as a saviour and save people from his sins then he should not be born as a sinner. His birth should be divine.
God who was existing before the foundation of the world should be born into this world with a divine nature.
There are two important things
Birth of Jesus should not inherit Sin of Adam. And Jesus should not inherit physical defects.
Psalms 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Jesus should be born not through the natural worldly process of birth but he should be born without inheriting sin. The nature of sin is inherent in every human being by birth. We see that in the world and the Bible says the same.
Psalms 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
Inherent sin should not touch Jesus. Then it should be a divine birth and a Virgin giving birth by the miracle of God.
Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
The above verse clearly tells us that how can a clean thing come out of an unclean thing. Is that possible? Jesus had to come into this world to save us and he had to come in the flesh to save us. He has to come in flesh and yet he had to be divine in nature.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jesus should be born in flesh by the miraculous hand of the spirit of God.
Romans 8:3 …God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
God made us in their image and in their likeness. But we lost Gods likeness and Gods image and inherited the likeness of sinful flesh.
And God was willing to send his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh so that God could condemn sin in the flesh. So that whoever believes in him could be saved.
Jesus should be born in the likeness of sinful flesh but sin should not touch him. And that’s the importance of Virgin birth. With all the above if Jesus had to be a saviour of this world he had to be born of God into this world.
And there is no doubt it had to be a virgin birth and it was a virgin birth.
Jesus birth should be without sin. Next is Jesus birth should be without physical defects.
God has sent his only begotten son to be a lamb of this world. In the Old Testament whenever a offering was presented to the lord. Priest would make sure that the offering was without any defects.
1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
If Jesus was born through natural process he would have inherited physical defects of his fathers and forefathers.
If Jesus should not inherit any physical defects he had to be born only of God and the brith should not have any influence of either man or woman.
Hebrews 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Without the miracle of virgin birth salvation of mankind would not be possible.
Jesus Christ King of Kings
Jesus Christ is also called Son of David. This portrays that he is the king. Jesus is the saviour of this world and he is also a king. During his ministry Jesus laid out the principles of his kingdom.
Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Here we see wise men coming from east to Jerusalem. They came to search for the king who was born guided by a star. These days we are hearing a lot about Jerusalem being declared as the capital of Israel. All the wise men of these days are looking at Jerusalem. The only thing is they should see Jesus in Jerusalem. As the wise men during that time saw Jesus in Jerusalem.
During the birth of Jesus the wise men saw king in Jesus. This is an important thing. Jesus is a lamb yet he is a lion.
Revelation 5:5-6 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
And the wise men brought gifts to Jesus to worship him. Question is from where did these wise men come from and they came from east as it is written in the Bible.
Some scholars and commentators say that they might have come from the old babylon. They would have known about the prophecies of Christ through the Jews who were in Babylon.
And the wise men brought in Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Gold stands for Kingship, Frankincense for Worship and Myrrh for perfume. Some say that Myrrh was a sign for prediction of the Jesus death.
Ezekiel 37:3 – And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
Ezekiel was in the midst of the valley full of dry bones. When he saw the dry bones his heart might have gone low. His spirit might have gone low. There was so much dryness. And a question came from God to Ezekiel “Can these dry bones live. In our dry lives can our bones live? Can our broken bones live?
The answer which came from Ezekiel with a low, fearful heart was ‘Thou Knowest Lord’. Lord you only know about it. What can I say and how can I say. You are the creator of all of us. Everything is in your hands.
And God said unto Ezekiel ‘Prophecy upon these Bones’. Say the word of God, say it. Say it on these bones and they will live. When God says a word, God gives a word it will fulfill. It will not go waste. It’s not what we say it’s God who says.
“Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:” – Ezekiel 37:5 KJV
When Gods breathe comes into us we will live. It’s the same breathe which God gave Adam. It’s the same breathe God wants to give us again. That the dry bones may live.
Israel’s situation was worst when they were in Babylon. Their hope was lost. They were as if they went to grave, their flesh was gone. Only bones were there only dry bones.
“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?” Psalms 137:1-4
People of Israel had a question
Can we Live Again?
Can we come back to the promised land?
Can we come back to God?
God wants to put his spirit in you and take you back. He wants to forgive you and take you back. God has blessed the life’s of people and lands of people.
“And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.” Ezekiel 36:35 KJV
Jesus says “…because I live, ye shall live also.” John 14:19 KJV
