Waiting upon The Lord is our Strength

But they that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31

This verse is one of the beautiful verses which is preached during the new year.

1. But they that wait upon The Lord

The most important thing here is they that wait upon The Lord. Waiting on Jesus is important. Waiting upon Jesus is important to have our life filled with blessings according to the will of God.

These days many people don’t have patience they don’t wait on The Lord nor even seek The Lord. There is a difference in the life’s of people who wait upon The Lord and who don’t. Here the prophet says that those that wait upon The Lord. There is a clear contrast which is shown here. Those who and those who don’t.

Peter and his other disciples waited upon The Lord in the upper room and received Holy Spirit.  After they received Gods strength they were not the same again.

The question is who will wait upon The Lord?

Those who know the strength, power and might of The Lord will wait upon him. Those who are in troubles should wait upon The Lord. Troubles take us into side ways. Moving away from Jesus ways. Job waited upon The Lord. He waited upon the lord righteously. And god gave him double the portion of what he had.

Moses waited upon The Lord in Gods presence. And his face shone with brightness that people were not able to see his face. Moses covered his face with cloth. Waiting upon the lord will fill you with Gods glory.

Abraham waited upon The Lord and he was made father of nations. He waited upon the lord with faith and patience.

How will they wait upon The Lord ?

If we see Gods servants from Bible they waited upon The Lord, by walking in his righteousness. Job waited upon The Lord inspite of his wife asking him to curse god and die.

Abraham waited upon The Lord by keeping faith upon The Lord.

Today you might be thinking that I am lost in my way, Judgement is passed on me by God. I will not be fruitful.

2. Renew their strength

Those who wait upon The Lord, there is no doubt they will renew their strength. Early church waited upon The Lord. They were focused, they walked in the way of The Lord Jesus Christ. They continued steadfastly in apostles doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers. They renewed their strength in The Lord and they spread out. There were persecutions but still they waited upon The Lord and they were renewed in strength.

Apostle Paul Waited upon The Lord for 3 years. And God renewed his strength. Renewed his strength in the right direction. To preach the gospel to the then known world.

If we wait upon The Lord and thank god for what he has done. God will renew our strength. If we wait upon The Lord walking in his ways, reading his truth that is the word of god, we will renew in our strength.

What is renewing in strength?

For us our strength is renewed in spirit. Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Father, son and the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in us and renew our strength.

Utter these words – “The spirit in me is very powerful. The Holy Spirit which is in me is very powerful. It gives me strength in my life.”

When our strength is renewed we will walk in the way of The Lord. We will walk by defeating the enemy.

We are weak in flesh but strong in spirit. For my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor 12:9

Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. – Hebrew 11:33,34

3. They will mount up with wings as eagles.

Now those who wait upon The Lord and renew their strength will mount up with wings as eagles.

God rescued Israel from Egypt and brought them out with an eagles flight. – Exodus 19:4

God renews our youth as that of eagle – Psalms 103:5

Say that – “We are all eagles that fly high”. Our wings in this world to fly high is Gods strength. Eagles need wings to fly high. Their wings are different than other birds so that they can fly high. Our wings are also different than other people. We are equipped with Gods strength. Gods strength is our wings to fly high. He will take us to greater heights. Don’t give up hope. Right now our Hope in our God might be new and it might not have a visible matter to look at. But our faith in Jesus is the evidence that our hope will not fail.

Jesus will make us fly high because we have his wings of salvation. When we have his wings of salvation he will take us into heaven.

4. Run and not be weary

When we run as per the will of our god then we will not faint. When we wait for The Lord and know the will of god, God will renew our strength to be weary not. When we have the strength of our lord our run to our goal will not be weary.

We will run a race to obtain the goal. During our ups and downs of life we should not be weary.

Paul’s life was a race run to achieve a goal. 1 Cor 9:26

5. Walk and shall not faint

Sometimes we have to run in our life’s and some times we have to walk. When we walk we should not faint. In our Happy Day’s our life seems to be running. In our difficult times days won’t move forward quickly.

Our walk should be a walk of patience.

Jesus won the Hearts of People

The minds of people can master many things. But God wants hearts of people. He wants the hearts of the people. Jesus came down to this earth to win the hearts of the people.

Many people with their minds might have won the minds of people. But Jesus with his heart touching words has won the hearts of people. To take these Souls unto heaven.

Many have mastered the minds of people but Jesus through his teachings has mastered the hearts of people to him. When Jesus looks at people he looks at the hearts of people.

Minds of people may get maximum knowledge but it’s the hearts discretion what is needed to figure out the truth. To differentiate between good and bad. Between the earthy things and heavenly things.

Mind thinks about earthly things but Jesus has transformed the hearts to think about heavenly things. And the heart directs the mind to think heavenly things.

Mind looks for wisdom, worldly wisdom but heart looks for heavenly wisdom, divine wisdom the wisdom which gives salvation to the mankind.

The teachings of Jesus touch the hearts of people and they transform the minds of people and turn the hearts of people to him.

The works of Jesus touch the hearts of people. Creation touches the hearts of the people and creation makes the mind to think that the heart and mind both come to God.

Jesus himself coming into this world dying on the cross has touched the hearts of the people. But the minds of some troubling them not to accept Jesus as a saviour. Jesus shedding his blood on the cross has touched the hearts of people.

The very acts of Jesus on the cross has transformed the heart of the thief and he repented for his sins on the cross. He was looking at Jesus with his heart full of sorrow and to get rid of sorrow of hell and to be in the heaven. The other thief who was on the cross was reading Jesus with his mind and he was not able to transform himself. He wanted a temporary relief from the current bondage which he had on the cross. But not eternal salvation. Mans mind is looking for temporal salvation.

I am fighting the devil with Gods word in my heart. And God wants to transform the hearts and minds of people. God wants to put his word in our hearts so that our heart can talk to the mind and transform the mind.

Stephen Hawking had a great mind but his heart was far from God. Mind might have knowledge but the heart lacks discretion to accept Jesus as a saviour.

Mind makes man to think that he is just a substance but God has put heart in man to know that he has a living soul in him. Mind wants to overtake hearts of people. But God wants to put his word in our hearts to overcome our mind.

Beatitudes of Jesus touches the hearts of people. Jesus has won the hearts and minds of many. Heart looks for truth mind looks for knowledge.

Few Sayings

I don’t understand why people want to put aside God. You may be a geologist or astronaut or scientist or whatever field your study may be into. The Hand of God is Everywhere.

If you go deep down into waters his presence is there and if you go to the Heights of Heaven his presence is there. If you study the creation his wisdom is there. All in All God is Everywhere.

World needs Jesus, We all need Jesus

World and the people of the world are filled with darkness. They need Jesus and the light of Jesus to shine in them.

The “Light of Jesus” is strong enough to pierce into the “Heart of Darkness” and “Soul of Darkness”.

The “Life of Jesus” is strong enough to bear a mark on “Soul of Darkness”.

The “Words of Jesus” are strong enough to convert the “Soul of Darkness”.

The “Sacrifice of Jesus” is full enough to erase the sin of the “Soul of Darkness”.

The “Risen Jesus” is the livingGod to give eternal life to the sinking “Soul of Darkness”.

O poor “Soul of Darkness” you are cornered by the majesty of “Jesus Christ” the son of the Living God.

Why don’t we have a repentance which apostle Paul had?

God one question which comes into my mind is why don’t we have a repentance which apostle Paul had?

Why don’t we have a conversion experience which apostle Paul had?

Paul was a devotee of Old Testament law. He was persecuting the believers of Christ. He was persecuting them harshly. He was committing a sin.

Jesus – Saul Saul why are you persecuting me? Today we are also persecuting Jesus through our sin. Today jesus is asking us as well. My dear people why are you persecuting me.

We might think that when Saul was persecuting Jesus a great light fell on him and seeing that light a great impact he had on his life. Since we don’t have that experience we cannot work for God like Paul.

No that’s not true Paul knew the salvation message of Jesus before his encounter with Jesus. Paul was there at Stephens stoning. Paul might have listened to the sermon by Stephen.

We might have heard many sermons till now. If we did not repent till now we need to understand today that the word of God which we are hearing today is having the same power to convert our lives as it had the power to convert Saul to Paul.

A great light fell on Saul. A great light is falling on us today.

Sin and Suffering

Sin is ruling the world that’s the reason people are suffering. God wants to give peaceful life to man. But because of sin devil steals the happiness of man. Corruption is sin.

People are living a frustrated life. Because sin is ruling in their hearts. Sin eats people’s health, wealth. Sin is spread across all levels, powers of humanity. People are looking for a solution. They want a change. They want to end corruption.

But they cannot find a answer. Well there is no immediate answer but there is one person who can bring a change into this world to India. He is Jesus. Everyone needs to accept Jesus as their saviour. We will see change in people their minds will be transformed. Because he alone died for our sins.

When we accept him as our savior our sins will be forgiven. We will not be a slave to sin. Man will not look for his own self but he will think about others.

He will think about helping others. Man has lost his mind because of sin. Devil brings fear in mans mind and because of fear man sins. Jesus removes fear from mans mind. Jesus will give peace not as the world gives but his peace will he give and then man will have eternal peace.

Our Heritage

Today many brothers and sisters don’t know what’s Gods will for them in their life. They don’t have the burden which their parents have. They look like they are walking not on the main road but on the side road.

They are not walking as per the will of God but as per their own desires and not as per the desire of God.

They have ambitions which are not based on the past blessings. They only consider future blessings. They don’t praise God and thank him for their past blessings.

They don’t understand and remember the heritage which God has given them. Psalmist says that in 61:5 “Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.”

God has given us the heritage of our forefathers who feared the name of God. This heritage is more valuable than all the riches of the world. We need to thank God for giving this heritage.

God has given salvation to our forefathers. He choosed us to be his people. God gave us salvation. He saved us from idol worship.

By giving us salvation God has blessed us. He planted us near the flow of living water.

We need to glorify, praise God for giving this heritage. This heritage gives eternal life.

Psalmist says in 16:5 – Lord you are my inheritance. You are the portion of my inheritance.

Let’s remember our heritage and our inheritance and ask God for our future blessings.
